Oncology Nurse Navigator / RN Oncology Contract:
12 weeks Shift:
Weekdays only (no weekends, nights, or on-call requirements) Two years of nursing experience in an oncology setting preferred (willing to train qualified candidates) Oncology experience as a navigator or infusion nurse required The Medical Oncology Nurse Navigator is a professional registered nurse with oncology-specific clinical knowledge who provides individualized assistance to patients, families, and caregivers to help overcome healthcare system barriers. Utilizing the nursing process, the Nurse Navigator provides education and resources to facilitate informed decision-making and ensure timely access to quality medical and psychosocial care throughout all phases of the cancer continuum. Delivering patient-centered care within the Hematology/Oncology Outpatient Practice for patients with all cancer types and benign blood disorders. Collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary team including MDs, NPs, RNs, Medical Assistants, Pharmacists, and Social Workers. Coordinating care for defined patient populations (e.g., Providing education to patients and families regarding chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive care. Facilitating care for patients preparing to begin treatment (pre-treatment staging, labs, testing, venous access placement). Supporting Hematology/Oncology physicians and NPs with triage calls, prescription renewals, and outside lab orders. Promoting a positive and professional image by welcoming new patients and assisting them throughout their oncology care journey. Collaborating with colleagues across MAH to ensure coordinated, compassionate, and seamless care.
