Schedule: Part-Time (20 hours/week) - Tuesdays & Thursdays from 8:30 AM to 5 PM, with every other Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM (flexibility to adjust start or end times as needed).
Location: 908 N Elm Street, Hinsdale, IL (with possible travel to other locations)
Your Role:
As a Medical Assistant, you will provide patient care under general supervision, ensuring adherence to AdventHealth service standards. Your responsibilities will include:
Greeting patients and obtaining clinical, financial, and demographic information in a welcoming manner.
Assisting providers during examinations and treatments, including some procedures and medication administration as directed.
Performing office duties such as verifying insurance, collecting copays, and scheduling appointments.
The Value You Bring to the Team:
Conducting screenings per physician orders and documenting all information accurately at the time of service.
Performing clinical intake following policies and procedures.
Assisting with minor procedures and maintaining compliance with OSHA regulations.
Ensuring patient safety and providing comprehensive care during office visits.
Facilitating efficient office flow by preparing patients and equipment for treatment, documenting results in the designated systems, and staying up-to-date with all policies.
Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: At least one year of practical medical assisting experience; cardiology experience is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of the healthcare field, medical terminology, and chronic disease management.
Strong advocacy skills and the ability to navigate complex healthcare systems.
Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and apply stress management techniques effectively.
Proficiency with computers.
Required: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification and a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential (AAMA, NCMA, AMT, or NHA).
