Location: Denver, CO or Kern County, CA
Job Type: Full-Time
Work Type: Hybrid work in Denver (3+ days/week in office) and onsite in California (5 days/week)
Travel Requirement: Approximately 30-50% depending on location
Please Note: We anticipate this individual to be primarily in Denver for the first 6 months and then need to be on-site in Kern County once construction commences.

Your Mission
As the Construction Project Manager for underground systems, you will oversee key projects focusing on geotechnical engineering, ensuring successful execution from conception to completion. Reporting directly to the VP of Project Execution, you will lead project teams and manage subcontractors while collaborating closely with the engineering team. Your leadership will be critical to completing projects on time, within scope, and on budget, significantly impacting the company's operational success and client satisfaction.
Your Daily Responsibilities
Leadership:
Drive multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring milestones and objectives are met. EPC Management:
Oversee the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction phases for smooth project execution. Project Management Tools:
Champion the use of Procore throughout the project lifecycle. Drawing Management:
Ensure all drawing revisions are accurately documented and communicated. Engineering Collaboration:
Work with engineering teams to resolve technical issues and adhere to project specifications. Risk Management:
Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively. Team Dynamics:
Provide guidance and performance management to internal project teams for high productivity and morale. Subcontractor Relations:
Manage relationships including selection, negotiation, and performance oversight. Budget and Schedule Oversight:
Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules and budgets, managing change effectively. Quality Assurance:
Implement quality control processes to meet project standards and specifications. Geotechnical Oversight:
Focus on geotechnical aspects, addressing geological and soil-related issues. Boring and Mining Management:
Ensure compliance with safety standards and specifications for underground works. Safety Compliance:
Ensure operations comply with health and safety regulations. Documentation:
Maintain comprehensive project documentation and prepare regular status reports for stakeholders. Who You Are The ideal candidate is a seasoned project manager with 8-10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry or renewable energy sector, particularly with a strong geotechnical background. You deeply understand underground construction, particularly boring and mining, and have a proven track record in leading successful projects. Detail-oriented, excellent in communication, and adept in risk management, you are a motivational team leader who effectively manages both people and processes. Your Qualifications 8-10 years of project management experience in the oil and gas industry or renewable energy sector. Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field. Preferred certifications: Certified Construction Manager (CCM) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP). Strong civil, structural, and geotechnical knowledge. Proven experience leading teams and managing subcontractors. In-depth knowledge of EPC delivery strategies and best practices. Strong risk management skills and experience in developing mitigation strategies. Excellent collaboration skills, effectively engaging with engineering and other technical teams. Outstanding organizational, communication, and leadership abilities. Proficient in project management software (Procore).
