Position Overview
The Estimator will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase, responsible for accurately estimating project costs and ensuring competitive bidding for various commercial construction projects. This position requires a strong understanding of construction processes, pricing strategies, and the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine scope of work and required materials.
- Utilize On-Screen Take Off software to enhance the accuracy of estimates.
- Conduct market research to stay informed about current pricing trends and labor costs.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to develop bid proposals and strategies.
- Prepare and submit hard bids for projects in line with client requirements and deadlines.
- Engage in private bidding processes where necessary, providing competitive yet profitable pricing.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an estimator in the commercial construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Proficiency in estimating software, particularly On-Screen Take Off.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
