Role Overview
Job Title: IT Project Manager – Infrastructure & Security (US & Europe)
Location: Houston, TX
Job Type: 12-Month Contract
Pay Rate : $50-60/hr
About the Role
Are you a strategic, hands-on, and emotionally intelligent IT Project Manager who thrives in lean environments and complex technical landscapes? We’re seeking a thoughtful and methodical leader to drive infrastructure and security initiatives across the US and Europe. This role is ideal for someone who’s used to managing smaller, fast-paced projects and values stakeholder communication as much as delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of infrastructure and security projects (95% of scope), including full-stack application development components.
- Facilitate engineering teams with a forward-looking execution plan and detailed runbooks.
- Collaborate closely with IT teams using whiteboarding and hands-on planning.
- Apply agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and manage sprints with precision.
- Drive cross-functional coordination, risk mitigation, and dependency management.
- Conduct workshops, standups, and retrospectives to maintain alignment.
- Manage internal teams and third-party vendors to meet delivery goals.
- Track financials, benefits realization, and ensure alignment with governance frameworks.
What You Bring
- 4+ years of experience in IT project management, with a strong focus on infrastructure and security.
- Proven ability to deliver in environments with limited resources—big IT organizations are not a fit.
- Project Management certification (PMI, PMP, PRINCE2).
- Strong analytical skills and stakeholder communication—this is non-negotiable.
- Experience with Microsoft Project, Visio, and collaboration tools.
- Ability to create and manage runbooks and technical documentation.
- Comfortable working across time zones and cultures.
You’ll Thrive If You
- Are methodical and thorough—prioritize quality over speed.
- Have strong emotional intelligence and can “read the room.”
- Are personable, engaging, and thoughtful in your interactions.
- Embrace ambiguity and turn it into actionable strategy.
- Enjoy working on smaller, high-impact projects with tight-knit teams.
- Are flexible, creative, and hands-on in your approach.
