About the Organization:

The Eau Claire Express begins its 21st year in the summer collegiate Northwoods League. The Northwoods League comprises teams of the top college players from across North America. Each team is operated similarly to a professional minor league team, providing development opportunities to players, front office staff members, interns, and coaches. The Express are operated similarly to other Northwoods League teams in that their players use wooden bats, experience long road trips and overnight stays, and play nightly in front of thousands of fans. The Eau Claire Express plays at Carson Park, located in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

The duties of the Marketing & Promotions intern may include any or all of the following: Sponsorship Activation & Coordination

Coordinate and execute six or more game-day sponsorships activations throughout the season Serve as the primary contact for assigned sponsors prior to the start of the season Organize sponsor-related activites, including giveaways, first pitch participants, and public address announcements Provide exceptional service to sponsors before, during, and after events, ensuring all needs are met

Proof of performance

Capture photos and other documentation during games to demonstrate sponsor and group fulfillment Compile and organize proof-of-performance materials to provide sponsors with clear evidence that all contracted elements were executed Assist in preparing post-event recaps and reports for sponsors and groups

On-Field Promotions & Game-Day Entertainment

Execute all on-field promotions and between-inning contests, coordinating with sponsors as needed Secure and manage prizes from sponsors for game participants Assist with contestant recruitment, direction, and event setup/teardown Organize and oversee pre-game ceremonies, such as First Pitch, National Anthem, and Youth Team of the Night

Theme Night Development & Execution

Collaborate with fellow interns to plan, promote, and execute one theme night during the season Create and distribute marketing content to promote the theme night across various channels Help execute different theme nights throughout the season

Digital & Social Media Marketing

Assist in managing Express social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, TikTok) Develop engaging content to increase fan engagement and promote upcoming games and events

Public Address Script

Draft and organize all PA scripts and announcements for home games Create announcements promoting upcoming games

Merchandise & Apparel Operations

Maintain an accurate inventory of team apparel and souvenir items Assist with reorders and ensure the apparel store remains well-stocked and visually appealing

Youth Team of the Night

Contact youth team coaches to confirm attendance, organize rosters, and facilitate pre-game introductions

Other Duties

Help with stadium setup and takedown for all home games Assist the Express front office with ticket sales efforts Provide general office and administrative support as needed Assist with everyday office duties and other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or Sport Management Ability to work well under pressure Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work within a team environment Knowledge of social media platforms and trends Organized, motivated, and able to work independently
