Mammography Technologist - Day
Location: Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center (ATAMMC), Fort Belvoir, VA
Schedule: Monday to Friday | 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Organization: US Got People (USGP) Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM Organization: US Got People (USGP) USGP is seeking an experienced Mammography Technologist to join our team at Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center (ATAMMC), where you'll provide essential diagnostic services to active-duty service members, veterans, and their families. This is a rewarding opportunity to support our military community while working in a federal healthcare setting. Compensation & Benefits Hourly Rate:

15 Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
every 3 years and complete a minimum of
200 mammography exams every two years
in compliance with the
Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) of 1992 Proof of qualifications must be presented at the time of onboarding Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)
– American Heart Association or American Red Cross Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
with Mammography certification Experience: Minimum of
1 year
hands-on clinical mammography experience within the past 2 years in a
hospital setting Immunization Requirements (Must be current or willing to obtain) Hepatitis B (series and titer) Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis) MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) Varicella (Chickenpox) TB test Seasonal Influenza vaccine COVID-19 vaccine (if applicable) Key Responsibilities Perform
routine to advanced mammographic imaging , including
film screen mammography
and
mammography-guided biopsy procedures Accurately position patients, explain procedures, and alleviate concerns with excellent patient care and communication Prepare examination rooms and maintain sterile fields, ensuring all required biopsy tools and sterile supplies are available Perform quality control checks on mammography equipment in compliance with
FDA and MQSA standards Ensure proper labeling, documentation, and transport of biopsy specimens to the lab Support the department with clerical tasks such as scheduling, screening calls, data entry, and maintaining patient records using systems like
Genesis Maintain accurate logs of patients, exams, film views, and supply inventory Comply with all
Department of Radiology policies , including safety and infection control standards Wear required radiation protection gear (e.g., film badge) and follow
Army Regulation 40-14 Ensure all certifications remain current— failure to maintain active credentials will result in removal from schedule
(employee bears the cost of certification renewals) Maintain medical records according to
