Comprehensive Cancer Center – 40 bed Med/Surg Oncology unit
Assignment Length:
13 weeks (Start: 9/15/2025 – End: 12/13/2025)
Shift:
12 hour day shifts (6:30am – 7:00pm), 36 hours per week
Guaranteed Hours:
36 per week
Estimated Weekly Pay:
$1470 - $1570
Weekend Rotation:
Every other weekend
Holiday Coverage:
Travelers work 75% of holidays

Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (North Carolina or compact state)
Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg or Telemetry RN experience (Oncology nursing experience preferred)
BLS and ACLS certifications required
NIHSS certification (required for Resource Team)
ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) and OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certifications preferred
Proficiency in port access, blood product administration, electrolyte management, end-of-life care, pain and symptom management, PIV starts, and cardiac rhythm interpretation
Epic EMR experience preferred
Travel RN Responsibilities
Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to hematology and oncology patients, including those with leukemia and those requiring comfort or end-of-life care
Manage patient assignments with a typical RN ratio of 1:4-5, based on acuity
Perform port access, administer blood products, and manage electrolyte imbalances
Interpret cardiac rhythms and verify telemetry strips each shift
Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, IV/VAT teams, and hospitalists to optimize patient outcomes
Float within the cancer center and to other med-surg units as needed (emergency only)
Utilize Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitors
Contribute to a supportive unit culture focused on teamwork, clinical excellence, and professional growth
