Travel ******Active RN license (DC or compact state)******* Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – PACU/Pre-Op – Ambulatory Surgery Center facility: George Washington University Hospital, Location: Washington, DC 20037 Shift: 8-Hour Day Shift, Monday–Friday (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM) Duration: 18 weeks Position Summary:
The George Washington University Hospital is seeking experienced and highly skilled PACU/Pre-Op Registered Nurses for its Ambulatory Surgery Center. This position requires both pre-operative and post-anesthesia care expertise in a high-acuity, fast-paced Level I trauma center. The ideal candidate must be able to think critically, act independently, and manage complex cases with confidence. Responsibilities: Monitor post-operative patients’ recovery from anesthesia and update the medical team accordingly Obtain and document patients' vital signs and monitor for adverse effects of anesthesia Administer medications for pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms as prescribed Educate patients and families on post-surgery care and recovery expectations Maintain accurate patient records and charting in EMR systems Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes Requirements: Required: Active RN license (DC or compact state) Minimum
2 years of recent ICU experience Minimum
2 years of recent PACU and Pre-Op experience Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, PALS Ability to work independently and handle complex surgical cases Must NOT have only surgicenter experience; high-acuity trauma experience required Highly Preferred: BSN Certifications:
CPAN, TNCC, CCRN Prior experience in a Level I Trauma Center Travel Radius: Must live 50+ miles from the facility About HonorVet Technologies
