Overview: Sterling Engineering / Staffing is currently looking for an HR Assistant for one of our clients in the Peru, IN area. Sterling has a rich history of delivering top talent to our clients. We are a nationwide Staffing Firm with over 100 clients and work primarily with Fortune 1000 corporations.
Hourly Rate: $18-20/hr

Job Description
Provide financial, administrative, and clerical support to the organization. This role includes controlling expenses by processing, verifying and reconciling invoices in a timely, accurate and efficient manner according to established policies and procedures. Responsible for day-to-day HR support. Maintains compliance with all state and federal regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform data entry of Accounts Payable invoices in an accurate and timely manner
- Process all invoices received within 48 hours of receipt utilizing basic problem-solving skills (purchase order research)
- Reconcile vendor statements to ensure accurate record keeping and problem solve any issues
- Scan AP documents for indexing into imaging system
- Vendor Maintenance
- Manages HRIS Systems such as Applicant Tracking and Peoplesoft
- Process employee payroll weekly
- Maintain and process all records accurately and timely (Attendance, EDR, SCF, Termination, Accident reports, leave of absence)
- Interpret and advise employees on company policies
Education and Training
- High School Diploma or GED required
Qualifications and Experience
- Detail oriented, sense of urgency, and follow-through
- Ability to multi-task, work independently, and efficiently
- Proven interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to communicate/deal with various vendors as required
- Adapt to frequent changes in workload and priority as circumstances dictate
- Strong computer skills to include HRIS and Microsoft Office
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with individuals at all levels
- Sound judgement and confidentiality
