Position Summary

An HR Specialist in recruiting and onboarding supports the entire employment lifecycle, from identifying and attracting candidates to ensuring new hires integrate smoothly into the company culture. Their duties include assisting with resume screening, conducting interviews, facilitating background checks, coordinating new hire orientations, processing onboarding paperwork, and serving as a primary point of contact for new employees' HR-related questions. Key skills for this role include excellent communication, organizational abilities, knowledge of HR policies, and experience with HRIS.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assist with writing job descriptions, advertising open positions, screening resumes, and coordinating interviews to help attract top talent.
  • Manage the pre-employment process, including initiating and tracking background checks, setting up new hires, and providing essential documents like policy handbooks and company information.
  • Facilitate new employee orientation sessions, provide company tours, introduce new hires to team members, and help them set up accounts for necessary systems.
  • Act as a point of contact for employees and managers, answering questions about company policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Ensure new hires complete required paperwork for payroll and benefits and ensure compliance with labor laws and company regulations.
  • Contribute to the organization's talent acquisition goals by helping to develop and implement recruiting and onboarding strategies.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Team and advertising agencies to ensure diverse advertising sources and methods.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external job placement firms.
  • Facilitate the selection and placement of candidates by processing employment forms and maintaining records.
  • Manage the online hiring documentation and assist candidates with the application process.
  • Evaluate and improve recruitment methods and analyze data for recommendations.
  • Maintain memberships for job posting resources and manage invoices.
  • Participate in job fairs to promote the university and address underrepresentation.
  • Maintain the agency careers page and update as necessary.
  • Run the Requisition and Review Committee.
  • Review applicant tracking analytics for trends and opportunities.

Salary

Salary Range: $50,000 to $65,000

Additional Compensation And Incentives

  • Eligible for $150/month ($1,800 annually) in student loan repayment
  • Earn $750 for every person you refer who is hired and remains employed for 6 months and receive an additional $500 every year as long as you both remain employed.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, accounting, healthcare administration, finance or related degree with appropriate experience preferred.
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification desired

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience with HRIS recruiting and onboarding
  • 3+ years of experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, etc.)
  • 3+ years of experience in a role that required you to engage effectively with all levels of an organization, fostering strong communication and collaboration
