Responsibilities

• Tutor remotely using our Live Learning Platform—no commuting required.
• Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.
• Get matched with students best-suited to your teaching style and expertise.
• Teach African-American History concepts and personalize lessons to fit different learning styles.
• Provide 1-on-1 online instruction and on-demand tutoring as opportunities arise.
• Invoice for tutoring sessions; Varsity Tutors handles payments.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base contract rates start at $18/hour and increase for specialized subjects; potential to earn up to $40/hour with the same student over time.
• Get paid up to twice per week for completed sessions.
• AI-powered Tutor Copilot provides real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features to save prep time.
• Work remotely with a purpose-built platform.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and an engaging teaching style.
• Expertise in African-American History with the ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
• Experience in tutoring or teaching and/or graduate-level education is preferred.
