Job Overview
Responsible for maintaining a high degree of guest and staff satisfaction while assisting with day-to-day operation of the venue.
Position Description
- Ensures the highest quality product reaches our guests and meets specifications.
- Conducts daily shift meetings.
- Assists in training new staff members within their department.
- Assists management with motivating, developing, coaching and counseling staff to ensure proper service levels.
- Visits tables during guests’ meals to ensure satisfaction and consistent service.
- Notifies management of low inventory and recommends new inventory.
- Assists with labor controls and assigning duties to staff members.
- Reports staff issues to management.
- Comping and/or discounting guest checks when applicable.
- Maintains high standards of service efficiency, sanitation and training.
- Assists with opening/closing responsibilities and venue setup, including walk-throughs.
- Maintains productivity and quality standards.
- Knowledgeable about company products and happenings; builds rapport with guests through name recognition.
- Performs other duties as assigned and moves with urgency.
- Adheres to responsible alcohol service per company policy.
- Follows safety and sanitation practices and reports accidents.
- Adheres to company policies and the Staff Member Handbook.
Requirements
Skills/Experience
- One to two years in a high-volume restaurant environment.
- Supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional interaction with other departments and external contacts.
- Ability to manage a heavy workload and multitask in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Good judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Educational Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Health permit/food safety and Alcohol Awareness; cards must be obtained and provided prior to first day where required by local laws.
Physical Requirements
- Work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
- Stand/walk for about 90% of the time; 10% sitting.
- Push/pull and lift objects; move objects horizontally.
- Visual and hearing capabilities appropriate for a customer-facing role.
Work Environment
- Exposure to varying weather and temperature changes.
- Moderate to high ambient noise levels.
- Occasional narrow aisles or passageways and potential hazards.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
- Ability to present information clearly and respond to questions from managers, clients, and guests.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in all units of measure.
