Job Details

• Location: Tyler, Texas 75701
• Healthcare Setting: Pediatric Unit (14 beds)
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/20/2025 – End: 1/19/2026)
• Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (06:00 – 18:00)
• Total Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1670 - $1720
• Patient Ratios: 1:4
• Weekend Coverage: Required (18 weekend shifts per contract)
• Scrub Color: Charcoal grey
• Charting System: Epic EMR

Pediatric Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (Texas or compact state)
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent pediatric RN experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Experience with 1:4 patient ratios in pediatric care
• Preferred: Community hospital and Trauma Level I experience
• Must not reside in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties

Pediatric RN Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality pediatric nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents
• Monitor and manage patients with cardiac and post-surgical observation diagnoses
• Perform remote monitoring, initiate and maintain IVs, and administer medications
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, cardiac telemetry, and heparin protocols
• Assist with lumbar punctures, central line blood draws, and other pediatric procedures
• Conduct phlebotomy, wound assessment and care, and pediatric dosage calculations
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic EMR
• Participate in rapid response and pediatric early warning score (PEWS) protocols
