Overview

RN Special Procedures PRN at Medical City Dallas. PRN position. Introduction: Experience the HCA Healthcare difference where colleagues are trusted, valued members of our healthcare team. This opportunity is for an RN in Special Procedures within Radiology.

Responsibilities

  • Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on the diagnostic Imaging patient.
  • Use therapeutic communication in daily practice.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Implement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual patients.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing process.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and significant others to help them make informed health care choices.
  • Delegate tasks to the appropriate caregiver.
  • Participate in Diagnostic Imaging initiatives and process improvement.
  • Promote a supportive Diagnostic Imaging environment.
  • Provide supervision of new employees, patient care assistants, licensed personnel, student nurses and/or nurse externs as assigned.
  • Maintain high quality age-specific care for infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as assigned.
  • Support the Mission, Vision and Values of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position.
  • Experience with radiation safety required.
  • Oncology, ICU or ER experience preferred.
  • Experience with infant to adult radiology patients preferred.
  • Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license.
  • Current AHA or ARC BLS provider.
  • Current ACLS.
  • PALS required within 6 months of hire or transfer.
