- Location: Iron Mountain, Michigan 49801 (Upper Peninsula)
- Assignment Length: 13-week travel nurse contract
- Start Date: October 27, 2025
- End Date: January 26, 2026
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2160 - $2210
- Employment Type: Locum tenens / travel nursing job
- Setting: 7-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in a community hospital
- Weekend Coverage: Required (every other weekend)
Qualifications
- Active Michigan RN license or eligibility (required for Michigan nursing jobs)
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU Registered Nurse experience
- ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA required)
- Previous travel nursing or locum tenens experience required
- PALS certification preferred
- Ability to float to Medical-Surgical (MS/Tele), Intermediate Care (IMC), and Emergency Department (ED) as needed
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Fingerprinting required for Michigan healthcare placements
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to ICU and IMC patients, including telemetry monitoring
- Perform bedside shift reporting, hourly rounding, and utilize AIDET communication techniques
- Float to other inpatient units (MS/Tele, IMC, and ED) as needed
- Manage ventilated patients, titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, and respond to rapid response situations
- Administer blood products, manage central and arterial lines, and assist with procedures (e.g., chest tube insertion/removal)
- Interpret arterial blood gases, dysrhythmias, and 12-lead EKGs
- Document patient care using Paragon/Allscripts (acute care) and T-System (ED)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services
