  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30), every other weekend rotation and some holidays
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
  • Clinical Setting: Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Burn ICU, Trauma Surgery ICU, IMC/Progressive/General Care

Qualifications

  • Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license (must be in hand at submittal)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ICU experience (within last 3 years)
  • Experience in an Academic Level 1 Trauma Center (required)
  • Successful completion of previous travel nursing assignment (13 weeks)
  • Basic Arrhythmia experience; must pass Telemetry test prior to start
  • EPIC charting system proficiency (required)
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association only)
  • Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility
  • Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)

Responsibilities

  • Float between Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Burn ICU, Trauma Surgery ICU, and IMC/Progressive/General Care units as needed
  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill adult and geriatric patients
  • Manage complex patient conditions: ventilator management, arterial and central line care, post-surgical care, advanced cardiac/neurological monitoring
  • Interpret dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases; titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, Pharmacy, Social Services, Rapid Response, etc.)
  • Support shared governance and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
  • Participate in orientation and competency renewal, including pass/fail telemetry testing
