- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30), every other weekend rotation and some holidays
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
- Clinical Setting: Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Burn ICU, Trauma Surgery ICU, IMC/Progressive/General Care
Qualifications
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license (must be in hand at submittal)
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ICU experience (within last 3 years)
- Experience in an Academic Level 1 Trauma Center (required)
- Successful completion of previous travel nursing assignment (13 weeks)
- Basic Arrhythmia experience; must pass Telemetry test prior to start
- EPIC charting system proficiency (required)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association only)
- Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
Responsibilities
- Float between Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Burn ICU, Trauma Surgery ICU, and IMC/Progressive/General Care units as needed
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill adult and geriatric patients
- Manage complex patient conditions: ventilator management, arterial and central line care, post-surgical care, advanced cardiac/neurological monitoring
- Interpret dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases; titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, Pharmacy, Social Services, Rapid Response, etc.)
- Support shared governance and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
- Participate in orientation and competency renewal, including pass/fail telemetry testing
