How You Will Contribute

Valmont is seeking a highly motivated individual for the General Labor position in the Global Utility Division. You will assist with kitting of small parts and the delivery of these parts to the appropriate locations in production, and you will perform other duties as assigned to support production. You will also:

• Grind parts in small parts
• Move pole shafts into the blast booth, set up and operate blasting operations under supervisor direction
• Escalate equipment, parts, or procedural problems to the lead person and the supervisor
• Operate equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, and handheld grinders
• Deliver on-time products with minimal manufacturing errors
• Perform other duties as directed by leaders and management
• Actively participate in department safety and follow Valmont safety policies

What It Takes

Required Qualifications

• Ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• After 90 calendar days, maintain an acceptable level of production, quality and attendance as determined by Management

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess

• High school diploma or GED
• One year of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
• One year of experience with overhead crane operations and forklifts
• Knowledge of kitting and material delivery processes
• Ability to identify and communicate maintenance or product problems to supervision
• Positive communication and teamwork with coworkers
• Strong safety awareness at all times

Must be a person of passion and integrity with drive to excel and deliver results.
