US Farathane is hiring: Production Associate 3rd Shift in Auburn Hills

Overview

The Production Associate is responsible for manufacturing product utilizing primary and secondary processing equipment or hand assembly. Following all procedures and work instructions, achieve optimal productivity, quality, and safety assuring internal and external customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Machine Operation: Operate molding press/equipment per company procedures; Perform any assembly required either manually or utilizing specialized equipment.
• Process Management: Review the Operator Display/Job Board prior to running production for work instructions and quality alerts; De-gate parts, as required at molding machine using specified equipment; Package parts into required containers (i.e., corrugated boxes, returnables).
• Quality Control: Ensure product meets established quality criteria of zero non-conformances; Daily review of all applicable quality alerts; Correct application of all internal and external labels when required, including removal of all old labels from returnable packaging; Immediately notify Supervisor of discrepancies to established quality checks.
• Documentation and Communication: Correctly record scrap every hour per work instructions; Correct application of lot control numbers; Ensure non-conforming product is placed in a red bin for disposition or disposal; Perform sorting and EPC (Early Product Containment) tasks with proper documentation; Communicate production and quality issues during shift meetings; Participate in team problem solving activities (e.g., 8D’s).
• Housekeeping: Keep work area clean and organized; Maintain high standards of housekeeping in respective areas.
• Safety: Follow all internal and OSHA required safety procedures; Adherence to all company policies and procedures.
• Additional Duties: Any other duties assigned by the reporting Supervisor and/or Manager.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers; familiarity with American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; handle problems with a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Physical Requirements: Stand, use hands to touch, handle, or feel; frequently walk and reach with hands and arms; occasional talking or hearing; occasional stoop, kneel, or crouch; ability to lift/move up to 35 pounds; vision requirements including color differentiation.
• Working Conditions: Indoor manufacturing environment; regular exposure to moving mechanical parts; potential exposure to fumes or airborne particles; loud noise levels.
