Location: Conklin Metal Industries, 607 Tradeport Drive, Suite 100, Summerville, SC 29472.

Position Details

We are a fourth-generation, family-owned distributor of sheet metal, HVAC, and duct fabrication supplies serving the Southeast. Our Charleston branch opening in November 2025 provides an opportunity to join a growing team that will serve customers and expand with us.

The role is hands-on and fast-paced, with responsibilities ranging from verifying and organizing shipments to preparing outgoing deliveries. Forklift experience is preferred but this is not a forklift-only position. The ideal candidate will be able to thrive in a physical work environment and work well as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify incoming shipments against invoices and ensure goods are received in excellent condition
  • Complete and process all required paperwork accurately
  • Organize stock and merchandise within the warehouse according to company standards
  • Follow and enforce safety protocols while ensuring safe storage in all racking systems
  • Monitor and report any missing or damaged inventory to management
  • Pull, stage, pack, and load outgoing deliveries and transfers carefully to prevent damage
  • Load and secure trucks in compliance with DOT and Conklin standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment

Qualifications

  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly and maintain high physical activity levels
  • Forklift experience required; certification preferred
  • ERP experience preferred (Prophet 21 a plus)
  • WMS experience and proficiency with RF scan guns preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Problem-solving ability and strong task prioritization skills
  • Flexibility to work overtime as workload requires
  • Comfortable working in extreme temperatures depending on weather conditions
