Position Overview
We’re looking for an HR Manager who enjoys keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes while supporting a great employee experience. This role focuses on benefits, compliance, and helping employees navigate everything HR-related. You’ll work closely with payroll, leadership, and external vendors to make sure our benefits programs are on point, while also pitching in on onboarding, performance management, and day-to-day employee relations. Basically, you’ll be the go-to person for all things people and policy.
What You’ll Do
Benefits Administration
- Manage health, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, and wellness programs.
- Handle enrollments, changes, terminations, COBRA, and claims—keeping everything organized and compliant.
- Oversee FMLA, ADA, and other leaves, ensuring employees and managers stay informed and supported.
- Lead open enrollment each year and help communicate updates to the team.
- Review and reconcile monthly benefit invoices, resolving any billing issues.
- Serve as the main contact for employees with benefits questions or issues.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Answer employee questions and provide HR support with empathy and professionalism.
- Help resolve employee concerns and ensure fair, consistent handling of workplace issues.
- Keep us compliant with all the major laws and regulations (EEO, ERISA, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, HIPAA, ACA, etc.).
- Prepare and submit compliance reports like EEO-1s and OSHA logs.
- Keep employee data accurate and up to date in the HRIS.
HR Operations & Support
- Run new hire benefits orientations.
- Maintain personnel files and ensure data integrity in HR systems.
- Manage unemployment claims and rehire eligibility.
- Support the creation and rollout of HR policies and procedures.
What You Bring
- 4–7 years of HR or benefits experience, ideally with a focus on benefits administration and compliance.
- Great communication and people skills—written and verbal.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel) and comfort using HR systems.
- Attention to detail, strong organization, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- A calm, professional approach to sensitive employee issues.
- Bonus points if you speak Spanish (not required).
