Overview
Aon is looking for an Associate Partner – US Real Estate Research Team in San Francisco, CA or Chicago, IL. This role is based in the US Real Estate Research Team, which includes over 50 specialists and advises on over $100 billion of private markets assets globally. You will be a senior member responsible for underwriting and monitoring investment funds, advising institutional clients on real estate portfolios, and supporting Aon’s business development efforts. The primary focus is on real estate, with broader real asset experience (including infrastructure, timber and farmland) being highly desirable. You’ll collaborate with colleagues in the US, Canada, and Europe across private markets and report to the Head of North America Real Estate. Responsibilities
Lead underwriting for new real estate funds and contribute to setting research priorities, including developing innovative solutions for clients and collaborating with fund managers to differentiate Aon in the market. Underwrite funds across a range of styles and structures, including open-ended, closed-ended, diversified, specialist, debt, and equity strategies. Monitor existing fund investments and provide ongoing recommendations to clients. Advise clients on portfolio construction, manager selection, and market trends within real estate and other real assets. Present strategic investment plans, performance reports and recommendations to Clients’ Board of Trustees. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, fund managers, and internal stakeholders. Identify and drive new business opportunities, participate in pitches, and support the wider Aon business in winning and retaining mandates. Collaborate with colleagues across manager research and other business lines to deliver integrated solutions. Attend and represent Aon Real Estate at industry conferences, annual manager meetings, and Limited Partner Advisory Councils. Mentor and support the development of junior team members.

Deep understanding of the US real estate market with 10+ years of experience in a relevant industry. Experience in underwriting and monitoring real estate funds. Excellent advisory skills with a proven ability to build and manage client relationships. Successful track record in business development, including winning new mandates. Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within a global team environment. Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate or a Business-related study.

Pay and Benefits
The salary range for this position intended for U.S. applicants is $168,000 to $240,000 annually, with actual salary depending on education, experience, skills, and location. The position may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
