Position Overview
Entry‑Level Structural Engineer – Energy & Industrial Group. Chicago, IL. Salary $60,660 – $87,090. Full‑time.
Key Responsibilities
Design structural systems for commercial, industrial, healthcare, government, and education projects.
Prepare shop drawings, specifications, reports, and other documentation.
Lead the structural design portion of small to medium‑sized projects. Make design recommendations and decisions.
Collaborate with senior engineer, technicians, and multi‑discipline teams.
Oversee shop drawing reviews, field data collection, and construction drawing quality.
Work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Travel short distances to job sites for site evaluation and construction observation.
Qualifications
Professional Engineer licensure in Illinois or Indiana or ability to obtain immediately.
Structural design experience using concrete, steel, masonry. Wood design a plus.
Experience using Revit, Navisworks/Recap, structural engineering design software, Microsoft Office.
Strong oral and written communication. Comfortable presenting design solutions to owners.
Excellent attention to detail.
Great time management: planning, organizing, prioritizing.
Willingness to collaborate with other disciplines.
Must have a valid automobile, climb ladders, work on elevated platforms, and use PPE.
