WSP is currently initiating a search for a full-time Senior Mechanical Engineer for our Denver, CO office. This position is suited for an engineer who wants to work within a team-focused local office at a large worldwide engineering firm. Be involved in projects with our Property & Buildings Team and help meet client objectives and solve challenges. Provides technical assistance and guidance for multi-site/phase due diligence, design, development, building, testing, and inspecting of mechanical systems on infrastructure, building, and construction projects in the public and private sector. Responsibilities include research, design, concept development, planning, installation, operation, maintenance, and optimal integration of automatic temperature control, air distribution, hydronic, and plumbing systems, equipment, and processes. Substantiates reports and documentation regarding installation, construction, and operation specifications. Ensures responsibilities are delivered with a quality level that meets or exceeds industry standards for design, safety, and functionality. Your Impact

Determine well-defined methods for collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from the physical work site, surveys, blueprints, schematics, data, technical drawings, data reports, and other matrices for project development, design, and construction. Perform professional mechanical engineering work and conduct research and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, equipment, resources, building, infrastructure, usage, and mechanical systems to determine conformance with applicable rules, standards, and permits. Develop construction and installation plans, specifications, and cost estimates; prepare construction safety and phasing plans, and update infrastructure layout plans coordinating with owners, other disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients. Incorporate advanced technology, modeling techniques, concept development, design requirements, load calculations, and operating strategies to ensure proper installation and functioning of equipment and systems; implement future-ready solutions with mechanical design standards. Verify site characteristics and provide technical assistance on HVAC, air distribution, hydronic, and plumbing systems and specifications. Collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers, planners, and professionals to execute project work on multiple concurrent projects, laying out equipment, calculating costs and material/labor quantities, and ensuring conformity with specifications and regulatory documents. Prepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, reports, sketches, calculations, technical drawings, and spreadsheets for interpretation or presentation of findings. Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate measurements, statistical analysis, and reporting. Assist with development and scoping of medium-sized projects and provide guidance to entry-level engineers. Prepare technical reports and presentations that explain research, findings, and recommendations to address design and/or construction issues or opportunities. Assist in data analysis from field investigations, contributing to action plans for moderate- to high-risk installations, equipment operations, and mitigation activities. Prepare and implement site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs). Comply with regulatory requirements pertaining to data integrity, documentation, procedures, training, monitoring systems, and record compliance and retention. Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients professionally. Remain current in the latest mechanical engineering techniques and practices. Work collaboratively with other engineers and planners on projects with building and infrastructure authorities on Federal, State, regional, and locally funded initiatives. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds and resources, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or closely related discipline. 5 to 7 years of relevant post-education experience in engineering and prior mechanical design experience. Engineer in Training Certification. Proficient knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, practices, processes, design/build, and application to project work. Experience with building and infrastructure planning, design, and construction management; involvement in rehabilitation and new design projects. Working knowledge of processes to reduce or eliminate hazardous substances/greenhouse gas. Working knowledge of relevant mechanical laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping. Ability to perform technical computations and interpret plans and specifications against regulations. Project management experience with small to mid-size projects including tracking hours and expenses. Ability to plan and conduct inspections and investigations on construction and design of facilities, applying applicable regulations and policies. Effective interpersonal and communication skills with engineering and non-engineering audiences. Self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization in a dynamic environment. Ability to work independently and lead junior team members with QA/QC adherence. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, math principles, predictive models, spreadsheets, and related tools. Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills to apply technical knowledge to data and load calculations. Ability to direct others in the field to complete tasks safely and efficiently. Proven track record of workplace safety and adherence to WSP safety policies. Ability to work schedules that may extend beyond typical workweek; occasional travel may be required. Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Engineering. Essential Professional Licensure/Certification. Experience managing small to mid-size projects. Healthcare and/or Science & Technology experience. Benefits and Compensation
