As a Senior Management Analyst II – SES within the agency’s Office of Inspector General you would function as an auditor under the supervision of the Director of Auditing and assist in the implementation of audit duties for the Office of Inspector General as outlined in Section 20.055, Florida Statutes. You would be responsible for coordinating and conducting audits, advisory services, special projects, and reviews; and writing audit reports. You will be required to uphold high standards of professional conduct at all times.
The Difference You Will Make While interacting with agency management and staff conducting audits, reviews, and advisory services, you would be providing recommendations for process improvements for agency operations. You would be privy to confidential information and will be expected to protect that information as appropriate against misuse or disclosure. Your Specific Responsibilities
Coordinate and conduct audits, advisory services, special projects, and reviews of Department operations, programs, controls, contracts, and agreements in compliance with Section 20.055, Florida Statutes, and professional standards to promote accountability, integrity, and process improvement.
Develop assignment scopes, methodologies, and audit programs. Design, research and prepare evaluations of Department programs, systems, controls, performance measures, policies, procedures, and other functions using audit techniques. Analyze supporting evidence, draw conclusions, and develop findings and recommendations. Conduct and coordinate audit follow-up and, when assigned, lead projects.
Prepare thorough documentation of work performed. Prepare oral and written briefings, drafts and final reports.
Participate in annual risk assessment and audit planning for the Office of Inspector General to ensure compliance with statutes and audit standards.
Participate in the preparation of periodic and annual reports to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
Ensure effective coordination with external auditors, including monitoring the status of corrective actions.
Perform procedure reviews.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of CPA standards, GAAS, GAO standards, and internal audit frameworks and inspector general principles.
Knowledge of information technology and operational auditing practices.
Skills in word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and data query languages.
Ability to understand, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, including handling sensitive information.
Ability to analyze problems, identify alternatives, and consider relevant information.
Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments, monitor progress, and achieve goals.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and present information clearly.
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships and facilitate open discussion.
Ability to learn and understand complex organizational and financial processes and systems.
Ability to apply technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
