Summary: This OPS Employment Security Representative II position supports the Reemployment Assistance Programs Adjudication Unit. Job duties revolve around providing quality customer service, reviewing claimant and employer information, and applying laws and policies to determine eligibility of reemployment assistance claims using the CONNECT system. Work environment: Fast-paced with emphasis on critical thinking and prioritization. Responsibilities
Identifies potential issues that can affect an individual's entitlement to benefits. Gathers facts from claimants, employers, and other parties relating to issues and chargeability of employer accounts for benefit payments. Issues may involve job separation, suspensions, leaves of absence, refusal of work, ability and availability for work, involvement of educational institutions, self-employment, and disqualifying income. Issues are resolved prior to payment of benefits. Produces written, unbiased determinations through the mainframe program. Ensures determinations comply with performance standards and pertinent statutes. Coordinates workload to maximize the issuance of first payments when issues are detected on initial or additional claims, by tracking claim load and utilizing the benefit payment system. Answers inquiries from claimants, employers, CareerSource Florida, governmental agencies, and other parties regarding the RA program per applicable statutes. Inquiries may be by telephone, electronic, or paper correspondence. Analyzes requests for reconsideration from initial determinations and issues written redeterminations. Maintains documentation of claim records for appeals hearings. Supports the connection between data collection, analysis, and the improvement of operational practices through effective communication and problem-solving techniques. Qualifications
Knowledge of data collection and analysis methods. Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze data to develop alternatives, solve problems, and document workflow. Ability to organize data for presentation in reports and other written materials. Ability to conduct fact-finding research and apply problem-solving techniques. Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, policies, and procedures related to operational and management analysis activities. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments. Ability to effectively communicate through various methods. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required (fingerprinting and background checks).
