Master’s degree in social work from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) At least five (5) years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), including two (2) years in a medical or behavioral health setting Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW or LCSW-S) in Texas Preferred Qualifications

At least one (1) year of experience in a supervisory role CCM or ACM certification obtained within one (1) year of hire Job Summary

Provides oversight of social work activities of the assigned team to ensure that services are provided efficiently, appropriately, and in a timely manner. Job Duties

Personnel Management

Ensures social work roles and responsibilities are delineated and communicated to team members and institutional personnel. Applies advanced specialty knowledge, clinical skills, and expertise in psychosocial assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to develop training and documentation tools. Manages, develops, and evaluates personnel and guides performance by identifying strengths and weaknesses and setting performance goals. Represents assigned social work practice within UTMB. Creates and clarifies staff responsibilities, job performance expectations, and departmental and institutional policies and procedures. Monitors the skills base of assigned staff and provides training and educational opportunities as needed. Defines personnel requirements and position competencies for the practice. Manages the hiring and orientation of personnel. Ensures that new personnel complete orientation requirements and are assigned a preceptor to monitor competency. Ensures that interventions are provided with humility, considering the cultural and developmental needs of individuals, in alignment with the expectations of a professional social worker.

Collaboration

Serves on departmental and institutional task forces, work groups, or committees. Develops and maintains partnerships across disciplines and organizations to enhance access to and continuity of care for social work. Promotes relationships with schools of social work in Texas to encourage interest in health care practice through internship placement arrangements, joint research initiatives, and collaborative continuing education activities. Mentors others within the social work profession to develop and maintain a robust health care social work workforce.

Leadership

Conducts regular practice meetings for information sharing, training, problem identification and resolution, and to encourage community and collaboration among social workers at UTMB. Collaborates with team lead(s) to set goals for the department. Fosters an organizational culture that promotes effective, coordinated services for clients, families, and communities. Creatively identifies opportunities for improvement. Establishes behavioral expectations for personnel that promote positive guest and peer relations. Consistently communicates in a professional and courteous manner.

Finance/Account Management

Establishes staffing patterns that reflect appropriate coverage of clinical areas and appropriate use of budgeted positions. Monitors individual worker productivity and recommends staffing levels to improve productivity. Monitors patient satisfaction through quality assessment and improvement practices and satisfaction questionnaires. Facilitates the development and maintenance of supply, personnel, capital equipment, and special program budgets.

Supports and encourages continuous process improvement within team and institution. Assumes responsibility for remaining current in job-related knowledge and skills and continuing education and licensure requirements. Prepares departmental reports and analysis, as requested. Salary and Schedule

Actual salary commensurate with experience. Work Schedule:
