Director, Philanthropy & Development at KoboToolbox. Kobo is the international nonprofit behind KoboToolbox, the world’s most popular data collection tool for challenging settings. Our mission is to provide highly usable tools for creating data-driven social impact. This is a full-time, remote position based in the United States. The role supports KoboToolbox’s fundraising program and reports to the Chief Operating and Innovation Officer. Position overview: Kobo is seeking a dedicated fundraiser to help expand access to resources and support its mission by building and managing a multi-faceted fundraising program with an annual private sector-based revenue target of $5 million. The role involves collaboration with external strategic partners and internal teams for strategy development and execution. Current travel requirements: approximately 10%, with potential growth as the donor base expands. Key Responsibilities

Fundraising Strategy: execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy focused on securing funding from grants, corporate sponsors, and individual donors. Partnerships: build, cultivate and maintain relationships with funding partners including corporations, foundations and family offices. Donor Stewardship: maintain strong relationships with individual donors with regular communication and recognition. Campaign Management: organize online fundraising campaigns to raise awareness and funds for Kobo’s mission and projects. Grant Writing: identify grant opportunities and craft compelling proposals to secure funding. Impact Reporting: report to donors and stakeholders on the impact of their contributions. Networking & Outreach: represent KoboToolbox at conferences, workshops, and other events to attract new funding sources. Data Management: track engagements and outreach in the CRM system (HubSpot). Requirements

Required Qualifications: 8+ years in nonprofit fundraising with a track record of securing individual major gifts ($10,000+), family foundation grants, foundation grants and corporate partnerships. Knowledge: Passion for Kobo’s mission and understanding of the humanitarian, development, and data collection landscape. Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, relationship-building, and networking abilities; ability to craft audience-appropriate outreach. Self-Starter: ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Tools: Proficient in fundraising software and CRM systems. Passion for Social Impact: Commitment to Kobo’s mission and making a global difference. Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with the technology sector. Knowledge of humanitarian and international development sectors, data collection methods, and digital tools in low-resource settings. Multilingual skills are a plus (French, Spanish, or Arabic). Benefits
