Technology Position Summary: TCG Labs-Soleil is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented

Associate Scientist / Scientist I

to join our multidisciplinary Protein Sciences group within the Biologics Technology team. This lab-based role will contribute directly to the analytical and biophysical characterization of therapeutic biologics in support of our pre-clinical pipeline. The ideal candidate will bring extensive hands-on experience, demonstrate strong technical execution skills, and generate high-quality, reliable data to drive decision-making in early research programs. Responsibilities: Perform analytical and biophysical characterization of proteins, antibodies, and fusion proteins using established methods (e.g., SEC, IEX, HIC, CE-SDS, SDS-PAGE, icIEF, DSF, DSC, and LC-MS). Execute experiments independently, record detailed observations, and ensure accuracy and reproducibility of results. Analyze and interpret experimental data, apply critical thinking to identify potential issues, and propose next steps. Prepare clear experimental protocols, data summaries, and technical reports for internal discussions and presentations. Collaborate with team members across disciplines to support program progression. Contribute to continuous improvement of workflows and share insights to strengthen group capabilities. Maintain instruments, follow laboratory best practices, and ensure experiments are conducted with high standards of quality and safety. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of hands-on laboratory experience in protein or antibody characterization in biotech or startup company environment; or Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of hands-on laboratory experience in protein or antibody characterization in biotech or startup company environment. Experience in therapeutic developability studies across monoclonal & multispecific antibodies, fusion proteins preferred. Practical knowledge of analytical and biophysical methods, such as SEC, IEX, HIC, CE-SDS, icIEF, DSF, DSC, and LC-MS. Hands-on experience with icIEF and CE-SDS on the Maurice platform, as well as LC-MS for intact and peptide mapping analysis (including data processing with Protein Metrics software), is required. A solid understanding of how analytical and biophysical characterizations are applied throughout biologics drug discovery—from hit-to-lead through lead optimization to candidate selection stages. Experienced with CMC development processes and contributing to IND filing initiatives is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to generate reliable, high-quality data and maintain meticulous documentation. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to clearly present scientific data. Flexible team collaborator, rapidly adapting to new scientific domains and mastering new techniques. Proven ability to thrive and achieve results in fast-paced, dynamic, multitasking environments.
