In-person collaboration is essential to Notion's culture. We require all team members to work from our offices on Mondays and Thursdays, our designated Anchor Days. Certain teams or positions may require additional in-office workdays. About The Role
Teamwork's mission is to make Notion the best collaborative environment for knowledge work. Our ambitious goal is to transform Notion into the first of its kind—a shared experience where teams, people, and AI create their life\'s work, together. Our team focuses on improving our users' most frequent interactions within the Notion app: navigating their workspace, discovering relevant information, and working together effectively. We maintain and iterate on key building blocks of the collaboration experience, including the sidebar, inbox, notification and digest emails, comments, home page, and more. We are at a turning point in Notion's journey, addressing growth in user content and collaboration needs, and reimagining user workflows in the AI era. We are taking a step back to rethink Notion's core information architecture and develop a new foundation for the next decade. We are looking for passionate full stack product engineers to help us build this vision. In this role, you will directly contribute to core building blocks of Notion's user experience and be a key player in building a scalable technical foundation for individuals and large organizations. What You'll Achieve
Lead strategic projects that improve Notion’s core user experience. Collaborate with product, design, data science, and user research to develop a product and technical vision and drive execution to deliver high-quality features. Build and maintain foundational pieces of Notion’s building blocks, enabling use cases such as docs, wikis, issue tracking, project management, and more. Contribute to performance, reliability, and robustness to ensure the product scales across dimensions. Partner with engineering leaders to identify and execute high-leverage technical investments that ensure long-term flexibility and sustainability of core systems. Skills You'll Need To Bring
7+ years of engineering experience, including building world-class product experiences with a team of engineers. Tech leadership experience: responsibility for technical decisions, guiding projects, and mentoring junior engineers. Shipping quality user interfaces: collaborate with product and design to craft experiences for large audiences using web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and a modern UI framework like React. Building the team: collaboration with engineers and cross-functional partners; commitment to personal and team growth. Thoughtful problem-solving: holistic thinking, clear context, and the ability to decompose complex problems while balancing business impact. Not ideological about technology: willingness to learn new technologies and tradeoffs between languages and tools. Empathetic communication: clear writing and thoughtful dialogue; constructive in disagreements. Nice To Haves
Proficiency with our stack: React, TypeScript, Node.js, and Postgres. Interest in computing pioneers and understanding their impact. Interests outside of technology (art, history, social sciences). We hire talented and passionate people from diverse backgrounds and encourage you to apply even if your past experience doesn’t align with every bullet. If you're a builder at heart, share our values, and are enthusiastic about making software toolmaking ubiquitous, we want to hear from you. Notion is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate in hiring or any employment decision based on protected characteristics. Notion is committed to reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities and disabled veterans in our job application procedures. If you need assistance or an accommodation, please let your recruiter know. Notion is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. For roles based in San Francisco, the estimated base salary range is $230,000 - $320,000 per year.
