Overall Purpose The Director, Business Development - Merchant is responsible for executing the Paze merchant sales strategy, developing strategic plans, and building relationships to sell Paze digital checkout and wallet services to US enterprise merchants. This 'hunter' role also involves leading and supporting the Merchant Business Development team to achieve success. The role collaborates internally to refine sales strategies and works closely with partners to drive sales and customer satisfaction. Essential Functions
Selling Paze solutions to US merchant customers. Building relationships with key decision-makers at merchants and payment providers. Presenting Paze’s value to stakeholders and securing buy-in. Executing go-to-market plans to promote early adoption. Leading, coaching, and supporting a high-performing sales team. Updating pipeline statuses with management. Negotiating aligned with strategy and process, and driving continuous improvement. Managing multiple prospects and building trust. Coordinating account plans with channel partners. Utilizing CRM tools like Salesforce for process management. Driving process improvements and mentoring the sales team. Providing market intelligence to improve product and marketing strategies. Supporting risk management and data integrity policies. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field. Experience closing eCommerce deals and engaging C-level decision-makers. 10+ years in strategic sales within merchant payments, with leadership experience. Proven success in eCommerce and FinTech sales to enterprise merchants. Strong communication, organizational, and negotiation skills. Ability to travel up to 50%. Background check required. Preferred Qualifications
Advanced education. Proficiency with CRM tools, especially Salesforce. Experience in a matrixed organization and high-growth fintech environments. Compensation In Phoenix, AZ, and Chicago, IL: $170,000 - $190,000 annually. In San Francisco, CA, and New York, NY: $180,000 - $220,000 annually. Additional incentives include a Sales Incentive Plan and benefits. Compensation is subject to market and individual factors. Physical Requirements Primarily sedentary office work with computer use, occasional standing, walking, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
