Purpose:
The Receiver is responsible for receiving raw milk, transferring it from tankers to plant holding silos. They will test attributes of the milk to ensure it meets organic and industry standards and maintain state and federal documentation.
Essential Responsibilities:
All plant personnel have the responsibility to monitor and report any deviations from our Food Safety and Food Quality (HACCP & SQF) programs to your immediate supervisor.
Follow proper milk handling procedures when unloading and transferring milk. • Perform state and company required quality tests through state certified sampling/analysis. Including components, antibiotic, TA, sensory tests. • Rotate clean/empty tankers and full tankers. • Maintain and complete required logs and documentation. • Follow proper procedures when loading a tanker for cream load out including cream component testing. • Adhere to directed cleaning procedures for tankers and receiving system.
Other Required Responsibilities: Pass and maintain state certification for milk/cream sampling. Work closely with Processor and lab personnel when receiving and cleaning tankers. As directed by Production Supervisor or Foreman.
Competencies Required for Success:
Organization/Planning Team Player Communication Judgment/Decision Making Knowledge and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Raw receiving experience a plus. Possess a valid driver's license. Ability to drive a dual axle yard dog to rotate tankers. Detail oriented team member with a strong, honest work ethic and the ability to handle multiple tasks daily. Follow established safety procedures. Have a thorough understanding of the receiving process in case the automated system is down and transferring needs to be manually.
Physical Requirements:
Must possess the physical ability to work the entire shift on the plant floor working in a cool, wet environment with temperatures ranging between 34-38 degrees will be a requirement. Standing, walking, climbing, repetitive bending, repetitive stooping, repetitive reaching with arms and repetitive grasping with hands and fingers. Must have the ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced environment working around production machines, warehouse equipment, forklifts, large trucks, and tankers.
