About the Role We are seeking an experienced

Estimator

to join our growing team in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. This role is responsible for

analyzing project documents, performing detailed quantity takeoffs, and preparing comprehensive cost estimates

for competitive bid proposals. The Estimator will play a key role in ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of bids while building strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.

Successful candidates will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess exceptional attention to detail, and bring a collaborative approach to preconstruction efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Review

project plans, drawings, and specifications

to confirm complete and coordinated scopes of work.

Identify and evaluate

risk factors

and develop strategies to mitigate them during bidding.

Manage and respond to

invitations to bid

and coordinate proposal submissions.

Perform

detailed quantity takeoffs

and cost analyses for assigned trades.

Collaborate with managers on

conceptual budgets

and preliminary pricing efforts.

Develop

bid tab sheets , gather and analyze subcontractor proposals, and prepare bid tabulations.

Author

trade-specific qualifications and exclusions

for bid packages.

Maintain and grow

subcontractor and supplier relationships , ensuring alignment with company values and client expectations.

Participate in

industry networking events

to expand subcontractor database and market knowledge.

Coordinate smooth

turnover of awarded projects

to the project management team.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree

in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

Minimum of

5+ years of estimating experience

in commercial construction.

Proficiency with

On-Screen Takeoff

and other estimating software.

Strong mathematical, analytical, and computer skills.

Proficiency in

Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) (link removed)>

Familiarity with

Division 216 trades

(site work through finishes).

Strong communication and collaboration skills with ability to work cross-functionally.
