Job Description

The Senior Therapeutic Specialist – Hepatitis C represents Gilead's products and services to a defined customer base, with a focus on sales growth within a specific geographic area. Responsibilities include in-person representation and face-to-face meetings with healthcare practitioners, establishing strong relationships with healthcare practices, delivering disease awareness information and clinical education, and translating complex clinical concepts to diverse audiences. The role requires strong presentation and communication skills, a track record of interacting with healthcare professionals, and the ability to understand geography-specific issues and opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Gilead's products and services to healthcare professionals within the assigned geographic area to achieve or exceed sales targets.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with healthcare practices to provide timely disease awareness information, clinical updates, and healthcare changes.
  • Synthesize complex clinical concepts for diverse audiences and deliver effective presentations.
  • Develop and implement a territory business plan to meet customer needs and achieve sales goals; monitor progress and adjust action plans as needed.
  • Prepare territory budget plans for customer contacts, educational grants, speaker events, and other external expenditures.
  • Collaborate with Medical Scientists, National Account Managers, Therapeutic Center Specialists, Marketing, and external partners to co-promote products or services as appropriate.
  • Identify and resolve issues and opportunities; communicate proactively to marketing and sales management.
  • Demonstrate commitment to Inclusion & Diversity initiatives.
  • Report adverse events to Drug Safety and Public Health departments per required guidelines.
  • Perform administrative duties including logging call activity, maintaining customer information, and submitting expenses promptly.
  • Adhere to regulatory, ethical, and company policies and demonstrate core values of Teamwork, Excellence, Accountability, and Integrity.
  • Engage in travel as required within the assigned area and meet any onsite visitation requirements for healthcare practitioners.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Degree and 11 years of experience
  • OR Associates Degree and 9 years of experience
  • OR Bachelor's Degree and 7 years of experience
  • OR Master's Degree and 5 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree
  • Minimum of 4 years of pharmaceutical/healthcare sales experience
  • Strong selling skills in competitive markets
  • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales objectives, preferably in specialty markets
  • Previous product launch experience in a competitive environment

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $133,195.00 – $172,370.00. Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and geographic location. Eligible employees may receive an annual bonus, stock-based incentives, paid time off, and a benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
