Overview

Your role as an IT Support Specialist is to provide hands-on technical support directly to end-users within the organization. This role troubleshoots and resolves hardware and software issues, installs and maintains desktop systems and peripherals, and ensures the smooth operation of local IT infrastructure to maintain user productivity and system stability. You will report to Eric Jerkins.

Responsibilities

  • End-User Support & Troubleshooting: Provide timely and effective hands-on technical support for desktop hardware, software, operating systems, and peripherals.
  • Respond to, diagnose, and resolve technical support incidents and requests logged via the IT Service Management system, escalating complex issues as needed.
  • Perform onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems directly with end-users.
  • Provide emergency hands-on support for critical IT issues impacting end-users.
  • System Installation & Lifecycle Management: Install, configure, deploy, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, and other end-user devices according to standards.
  • Manage the lifecycle of end-user hardware, including deployment, upgrades, inventory tracking, and decommissioning.
  • System Monitoring & Maintenance: Monitor local end-user system performance and proactively address identified issues or potential bottlenecks.
  • Assist with the maintenance of local IT infrastructure components (e.g., servers, network equipment) under the guidance of senior teams.
  • Documentation & Process Adherence: Create and maintain clear documentation for troubleshooting steps, configurations, and standard processes.
  • Adhere to established IT policies, procedures, and standards.

Experience Requirements

  • Extended experience of successfully delivering IT services.
  • Proven track record of cultural awareness while collaborating with peers in other regions.
  • A broad knowledge of the different technologies used within Atlas Copco and available in the industry to give a good overall understanding of IT.
  • Working knowledge of value and use of Standard IT processes and methodologies (i.e., ITIL, PMI and SDLC).
  • Comfortable with working in a highly matrix global environment.

Educational / Personality Requirements

  • University degree or equivalent experience.
  • Certification within ITIL (Foundation) is a benefit.
  • Fluency in English, spoken and written is a must; a second language is preferred.
