The mission of Speechify is to make sure that reading is never a barrier to learning. Speechify’s text-to-speech products turn PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, and websites into audio so users can read faster, read more, and remember more. Our products include the iOS app, Android app, Mac app, Chrome extension, and Web app. Speechify has been recognized by Google as Chrome Extension of the Year and by Apple as App of the Day. Today, nearly 200 people work globally in a 100% distributed setting. We describe our team as frontend and backend engineers, AI research scientists, and others from top tech companies and academia. We are seeking a Senior iOS Engineer to support our growing iOS user base and to work on exciting new projects that push our product forward. This is a key role for someone who thinks strategically, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys creating great user experiences. We operate with a flat organization where leadership comes from technical excellence and results. Strong work ethic, clear communication, and a drive to win are essential. Our interview process includes several technical interviews with a target to complete within one week. What You’ll Do
Lead key engineering and product decisions Actively ship production code for the Speechify iOS app Work within a dedicated product team Participate in product discussions to shape the product roadmap Maintain and enhance the existing complex app architecture An Ideal Candidate Should Have
Experience with products that scaled to a large user base Track record of taking products from inception to traction and owning the engineering of the product Customer obsession and a focus on delivering the best possible experience Product thinking to guide evolution and support for internal teams and designers Speed and decision-making to ship quickly while knowing what can ship now vs. later Focus and ability to manage a busy, remote, high-growth startup environment Technical skills: Swift, SwiftUI Technical Requirements
Swift programming language SwiftUI experience Multithreading programming Experience with CI/CD infrastructure Experience with Fastlane SOLID principles and writing well-structured classes Git experience and understanding of different Git strategies What We Offer
