Lead preconstruction efforts, including conceptual estimating, budgeting, and scheduling for property construction projects. Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables. Develop comprehensive cost estimates and risk assessments to guide project planning. Oversee bid preparation and subcontractor selection processes, ensuring competitive pricing and quality standards. Provide strategic input during the design phase to optimize project efficiency and feasibility. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, materials, and labor costs to support accurate forecasting. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal construction regulations and standards. Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of growth and continuous improvement. A successful Director of Preconstruction should have: A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field. Proven expertise in cost estimating, budgeting, and preconstruction processes. Strong knowledge of property construction methods, materials, and industry standards. Exceptional organizational and project management skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with clients and teams.
