The following responsibilities and duties are included, but may be requested or assigned beyond these items. Compensation

Lead annual compensation review cycle, including merit increases, bonuses, and promotions for Business Professionals. Lead annual compensation review cycle for Associates and Counsel, including lockstep increases and bonuses. Support annual partner compensation process under the direction of the Chief Talent Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Provide guidance to HRBPs and managers on compensation decisions. Conduct market benchmarking and salary surveys to ensure competitive compensation practices. Oversee the creation and updates of compensation grades and salary ranges. Compliance and Risk Management

Ensure policy compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws and regulations. HR Project Management

Lead and manage HR projects such as system implementations, policy rollouts, and other initiatives. Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation. Support change management and communication strategies related to HR initiatives. Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement. HR Administration

Manage the HR administrative team (Generalists and Coordinators). Manage the interactive process for accommodation requests under the ADA, Title VII, and other applicable laws. Develop, prepare, and manage the annual HR department budget in collaboration with the Senior Director of HR & Talent Management. Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within HR operations. Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the HR department. HRIS and Reporting

Partner with IT to manage HRIS systems ensuring data integrity and reporting accuracy. Maintain and improve the HRIS system to align functionality with business needs. Generate and analyze HR metrics and reports to support decision-making; provide regular reports to senior leadership. Maintain system documentation, user guides, and process workflows. Supervisory Responsibilities

The Senior Manager of Human Resources will manage the HR Generalist and Coordinator team. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business, or equivalent; seven or more years of progressive HR generalist experience or equivalent. Prior experience, preferably in a large legal or professional services firm. Experience with HR principles, policies, employment law (EEO, ADA, FMLA, etc.), compensation, and employee relations. Proficiency in HRIS systems and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to interact with a diverse group of stakeholders including attorneys, clients, staff, and outside contacts. Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with attention to detail and a comprehensive understanding of HR programs and processes (performance, attrition, engagement, compensation). Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and respond to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Initiative, independent judgment, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to identify and analyze personnel and workflow issues and implement solutions; strong troubleshooting and follow-through skills. Excellent organizational skills, including record keeping and data management. Ability to compile and analyze data and present information in reports or written form. Occasional travel to other firm locations may be required. Salary and Benefits

In our Chicago office, the annualized salary range for this position is $170,000 to $200,000.
