Schedule:
Hybrid onsite 3 days/week (Tuesday Thursday).

We are seeking a highly skilled
Red Hat Linux Administrator
to join our Boston-based team.
This hybrid role requires strong technical depth in
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
administration,
Ansible automation , and
Veritas storage management .
The ideal candidate will have a balance of hands-on infrastructure expertise, automation proficiency, and problem-solving skills to ensure reliability, performance, and compliance across systems.
Responsibilities
Linux System Administration
Manage, configure, and maintain
Red Hat Enterprise Linux
servers.
Perform system upgrades, patching, and routine maintenance.
Manage Red Hat tools such as
Satellite ,
Cluster , and
IDM .
Troubleshoot OS-level and infrastructure issues.
Develop scripts (Shell, Bash, Python) to automate administrative tasks.
Monitor and tune system performance to ensure high availability.
Support virtualization environments (VMware, KVM) and cloud integrations (AWS, Azure).
Ansible Automation
Develop and maintain
Ansible playbooks
and roles for provisioning, configuration, and deployment.
Implement
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
practices.
Veritas Backup & Storage
Administer
Veritas NetBackup ,
Volume Manager , and
Cluster Server .
Manage storage configurations, backup/recovery operations, and disaster recovery planning.
Troubleshoot storage-related performance or availability issues.
System Security & Compliance
Apply system hardening and patch management best practices.
Work with security and compliance teams to address vulnerabilities and maintain audit readiness.
Collaboration & Documentation
Partner with infrastructure, application, and DevOps teams.
Create detailed documentation for system configurations, automation processes, and standard procedures.
Qualifications
5 years of
Red Hat Linux System Administration
experience.
Hands-on expertise with
Ansible
automation.
Strong background in
Veritas
technologies (NetBackup, Volume Manager, Cluster Server).
Proficiency in
Unix/Linux scripting
(Shell, Bash, Python).
Familiarity with networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP).
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with
VMware
or other virtualization tools.
Exposure to
cloud platforms
(Azure, AWS).
Understanding of
containerization tools
(Docker, Kubernetes).
