Job Summary

The Manager, OSP Engineering will be responsible for managing OSP Engineering activities performed by Ziply employees and engineering vendors, ensuring work meets quality standards and projects are completed per design, on time and within budget. This role requires strong teamwork within the Construction Department and cross-department collaboration. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Accountable for staffing, schedules and compliance associated with OSP engineering and construction activities, along with safety and quality of work performed. Lead an OSP Engineering team and provide leadership and mentorship through coaching, feedback, development goals and performance management. Oversee production of all engineering work orders within an assigned geographic area. Ensure engineering work orders are designed in compliance with company standards, NESC, municipal requirements, and public ROW or utility easements. Confirm project cost estimates are accurate. Release work orders to Construction in time to meet commitment dates. Manage Engineering process and documentation through project completion. Identify permitting authorities based on proposed routes and oversee completion of necessary permit applications. Verify contractor invoices for accuracy and process to AP in a timely manner. Develop, coordinate, and execute project schedules with contractors, property management, customers, vendors, internal stakeholders, municipalities, and government agencies. Coordinate and participate in internal meetings to ensure communication and alignment of initiatives and best practices. Coordinate with State, local municipalities, and utilities. Performs other duties as required to support the business and evolving organization. Qualifications

8+ years of OSP experience, including quoting, permitting and other pre-construction activities. Developed leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and lead others. Experience using fiber optic network documentation tools. Experience managing capital budgets preferred. Advanced understanding of the permitting process for railroad, DOT, cities, counties, and pole owners. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and satisfactory driving record. Must complete a pre-employment drug screening. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must have computer competency including proficiency with Microsoft Suite and understanding of database programs. Ability to type minimum of 40 WPM. Ability to deliver outstanding customer service consistently to all internal and external customers. Ability to work independently and apply sound judgment and reasoning skills to a variety of situations. Ability to multi-task and collaborate effectively with other personnel to meet deadlines. Ability to adjust to rapidly changing priorities. Strong verbal and written communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals and teams. Ability to travel occasionally overnight. Work Authorization
