Computer Science Teacher role at Carney, Sandoe & Associates for the 2026-2027 school year at independent schools in the Boston area. Responsibilities

Design thoughtful lessons and activities for computer science classes (four sections). Teaching assignments may vary by year. Maintain computer hardware including 3D printers and robotics. Communicate basic programming concepts such as iteration, conditionals, and variables. Help students demonstrate their thinking clearly and systematically. Be available to students outside of class for additional help during the school day. Design formal and informal assessments to measure student progress using formative and summative methods. Provide timely feedback and grades on written work and tests. Collaborate with parents and other teachers to support each student’s learning goals. Communicate effectively with students and families about classwork, learning goals, and progress, including comments to parents at least once per semester. Use the school’s learning management system to inform students about responsibilities, grades, and expectations. Set high expectations for student learning, achievement, and character development. Continue to advance pedagogy through reading, conferences, workshops, and participation in the school’s professional growth plan. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is required. Advanced studies, professional experience, and/or a master’s degree are preferred. Deep knowledge of computer science content with the ability to convey concepts clearly to students. Experience coaching students to communicate effectively in speech, on the computer, and in writing. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Computer skills including desktop publishing, Microsoft Office, learning management systems, and online teaching techniques.
