Overview

Director of Liturgy, Worship and Music The St. Joseph Pillar of Families, Family of Parishes which includes Holy Angels in Sidney, Sts. Peter and Paul in Newport, Sacred Heart of Jesus in McCartyville, and St Michael in Ft. Loramie is seeking a Director of Liturgy, Worship and Music. The Director assists the pastor in establishing policies and guidelines for liturgy, worship, music and the sacraments. The Director is responsible for coordinating all the liturgical aspects of parish life, ensuring liturgical celebrations are well prepared and celebrated, directing efforts in liturgical catechesis for the faithful, and overseeing the formation and training of lay liturgical ministries. Other responsibilities include overseeing the liturgical staff (including music ministers, sacristans, etc.) and managing the Liturgy, Worship and Music Teams in the Family of Parishes. These Teams are comprised of leaders for each area in each parish in the St. Joseph Pillar of Families. The Director must articulate and implement a clear vision/mission.

Responsibilities

Assist the pastor in establishing policies and guidelines for liturgy, worship, music and the sacraments.

Coordinate all liturgical aspects of parish life to ensure celebrations are well prepared and celebrated.

Direct efforts in liturgical catechesis for the faithful.

Oversee the formation and training of lay liturgical ministries.

Oversee the liturgical staff including music ministers, sacristans, etc., and manage the Liturgy, Worship and Music Teams across the Family of Parishes.

Lead and align Teams across parishes with a clear vision and mission.

Qualifications

A degree in Roman Catholic Liturgy, Music, Pastoral Ministry or related field is strongly recommended or commensurate liturgical/music ministry experience.

Spiritual maturity; practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church; faithful to the Magisterium; consistent in prayer life; regularly receiving the sacraments; able to speak of one’s relationship with Jesus.

Broad understanding of and ability to articulate Church teaching regarding liturgical life.

Experience mentoring and accompanying adults at different stages of the discipleship path.

Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people in one-on-one and large group settings.
