What you’ll do

Camp’s Health Care Director oversees the health and safety of camp’s staff and campers. Responsible for the Health Center and works closely with a team of volunteer medical staff. Supervises a small team of Health Aides, oversees dispensing of camper and staff medications, and monitors the overall health and wellbeing of the entire camp community. Coordinate coverage of the health care center when needed and participate in staff training pertaining to health and safety. Prepare summaries and evaluations of the camp season, including inventories and health-related reports for the following season. Maintain medical records, manage medications, and follow YMCA policies related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Holds current EMT, LPN, RN, or MD in WA state. Other applicable education, training, and experience will be considered. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant program or equivalent education/experience. Two years or more of related experience, with proven experience in training others. One or more years of experience with staff and volunteer supervision, program development, and budget management. Experience with youth behavior management and child abuse prevention; ability to relate to parents and campers professionally. This position requires driving: 21 years of age or older; current Driver’s License with at least 3 years of safe driving experience; driving record that meets YMCA standards; a maximum of one minor violation and no speeding violations over 20 mph above the limit. Preferred: current state-approved first aid and CPR certifications; Master’s degree in a relevant field; experience with diverse populations; anti-racism practices and coalition building. Hiring range and schedule

HIRING RANGE: $205/day Staff returning to the same or equivalent job for the second season: $225/day Third season: $245/day Fourth or more seasons: $265/day Full-time, seasonal residential camp position; typical shift 8:30am-5:00pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch; six days on and one day off including training and staff meetings.
