U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs . Location: Fayetteville VA Medical Center, part of the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Mid Atlantic Healthcare Network (VISN 6). This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT. All qualified applicants will be referred to the hiring manager on a weekly basis. Responsibilities
Administrative Duties: Attending required staff meetings, communicating up and down the chain of command, and helping prepare heads-up and issue briefs related to adverse patient outcomes. Clinical Management including indirect patient care: open encounters and open consult maintenance, CPRS documentation requirements, monitoring of clinic management. Maintains involvement in matters concerning clinic productivity, relevant performance measures, Quality and Patient Safety oversight, as well as process improvements (system redesigns). Clinical Duties: The Urology service encompasses a broad range of pathologic entities with both conservative and surgical treatment options. Patients often have severe concomitant medical problems, mental health and chronic pain issues and are multi-symptomatic. The Urologist makes and implements sound and reasonable decisions and demonstrates strong personal and team performance/cooperation. Responsibilities include admission history and physicals, preoperative evaluations, orders, progress notes, aftercare plans and discharge summaries. Privileges and procedures are determined by the Professional Standards Board and approved accordingly. The incumbent reports to the Chief of Surgery and Chief of Staff for clinical and administrative duties. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. VHA Physician Total Rewards. Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Urology department will provide consult and call coverage for the VA Hospital on Ramsey. Qualifications
Requirements U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may be appointed when necessary per VA policy Urinalysis screening prior to appointment for designated positions; refusal will deny employment Selective Service Registration for males born after 12/31/1959 Proficiency in written and spoken English Probationary period may be required Background/security investigation Online onboarding process Pre-employment physical examination Influenza vaccination program participation is required Complete all application requirements in the Required Documents section Education Degree of Doctor of Medicine or DO from an accredited school (LCME or AOA approved). For foreign graduates, ECFMG certification verification may be required. Basic Requirements United States Citizenship MD or DO degree from an approved medical school Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery Residency training in an accredited core specialty leading to board eligibility; VA policy may require board certification for faculty status Proficiency in English Preferred Experience:
