Job Summary:

The Benefit Analyst is responsible for verifying patient information (demographics, insurance information, guarantor information) prior to patients arriving for their upcoming appointments. They are also responsible for inputting this information into EPIC.

Essential Job Duties: Make outgoing calls to patients to obtain demographic, guarrantor, insurance information. Have the adequate knowledge to input the information give by the patients at a high level to ensure no mistakes made for registration purposes. Make outgoing calls to insurance companies to verify patient benefit information and to verify if an authorization/referral is needed for upcoming appointment. Have the ability to navigate through an Insurance website to also verify patient benefit information and to verify if an authorization/referral is needed for upcoming appointment. Have the ability to work patient specific work ques for GSPN and GSH. Have the ability to communicate with Physician offices as well as GSH Departments for any questions/information needed when verifying information. Have the ability to work in EPIC-Cadence and ADT systems. Secondary Job Duties That May be Reassigned:

Gets and distributes incoming, outgoing and interoffice mail. Answers and directs phone calls.

Qualifications

High School graduate, associate's degree preferred Experience:

Insurance knowledge and terminology. Proficient with the EPIC system.
