Director, Reputation Management (Hybrid) - Olin Business
Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a Director, Reputation Management to build WashU Olin’s brand and reputation as a premier business school through integrated marketing communications (IMC). The Director will work with the school’s dean, senior leadership team and faculty on IMC to advance the school’s mission, goals and strategic priorities and elevate visibility for faculty research and thought leadership among external audiences and the Olin community. The role requires a strategist who can provide high-level direction, collaborate across teams, and execute effectively. Position Summary Hours : 37.5 per week Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Develop an integrated marketing communications strategy with measurable objectives to advance Olin’s reputation and elevate visibility for faculty research and thought leadership among a multi-stakeholder audience. Partner with faculty to create discrete strategies and plans for high-priority areas (e.g., health) for Olin’s recognition. Collaborate with the dean to position him as a thought leader through compelling platforms and a 360-degree content amplification strategy across face-to-face and online channels. Establish a metrics framework and dashboards for ongoing tracking and reporting aligned with WashU Olin’s strategic priorities. Manage the Reputation Management budget to optimize ROI across marketing communications channels. Shape WashU Olin’s umbrella narrative and ensure a compelling Olin story is told consistently across channels to drive target audience perception and behavior changes. Lead multimedia content strategy and an editorial calendar for enterprise and thought leadership topics across owned, earned, and social channels; experiment with narrative formats. Partner with university stakeholders (e.g., university marketing & communications, office of the provost) to pursue shared goals. Collaborate with stakeholders across the university to promote positive working relationships. Oversee day-to-day IMC activities for the Reputation Management team to drive measurable impact. Work with the Program Marketing team to leverage Olin thought leadership to drive applications and enrollments. Manage relationships with agencies/contractors and recruit, develop, coach, and retain talent; foster a high-performing, results-driven culture. Promote effective communication, empowerment, and collaboration within and across teams. Drive team development to stay current with changing technologies and channels in higher education and marketing communications. Working Conditions
Normal office environment. Ability to travel to on- and off-campus locations. Physical Requirements
Typically sitting at a desk; repetitive wrist/hand/finger movements. Education & Qualifications
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 7 years of relevant work experience. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree. Higher Education experience (5 years). Confidentiality, leadership, strategic thinking, and strong written/oral communication skills. Other Information
Job Level / Grade : G15 Salary : $84,200.00 - $148,500.00 annually Benefits
