The Corporate Controller provides strategic leadership and oversight for all accounting operations—including general accounting, Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting, AP, AR, treasury and related financial functions—ensuring US GAAP standards compliance. This role directs the monthly close process and provides timely and reliable financial reporting. Additionally, the position is responsible for strategic growth while establishing and maintaining effective accounting policies and procedures.
Role Responsibilities:
Direct accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and departmental functions; train and support branch accounting personnel as needed.
Provide management with timely, accurate, and comprehensive financial insights by evaluating and analyzing key performance data.
Monitor monthly, quarterly and annual financial and operational performance against established budgets, KPIs, and reporting standards.
Prepare, manage, and analyze financial statements and performance metrics for both the division and the Group holding company.
Safeguard organizational assets through the development, monitoring, and enforcement of robust financial policies, procedures, internal controls, and reporting systems, including oversight of the annual financial audit and compliance reporting for banks and investors.
Support the development and execution of short- and long-term financial and operational strategies to drive business growth and efficiency.
Oversee Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting and ensure accuracy in project-related financial reporting.
Lead and develop the accounting team with a leadership approach that fosters trust, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across departments.
Maintain a high-performing team through consistent coaching, performance feedback, and career development initiatives.
Oversee the annual audit process and corporate tax compliance requirements.
Collaborate with the CFO and Senior Financial Analyst to manage budgets, forecasts, board reporting, and other key financial deliverables. Provide support to the CFO on special projects and other strategic financial initiatives.
Lead and ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end close activities, bank reconciliations, disbursements review and approval, oversight of payroll processing, tax compliance, employee expense reports.
Manage treasury operations, including cash controls, quarterly cash flow forecasting, bank account oversight, and authorization of wire transfers within designated authority levels.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting AND CPA required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
Percentage of Completion Accounting required
Public accounting experience in audit, preferred
Private Equity experience a plus
Minimum of 5 years of corporate accounting
Minimum of 3 years of team management
Proven experience with accounting and ERP systems, MUST have Microsoft Dynamics (or MS Navision or Great Plains)
