Overview
An Energy employer in the Galleria area of Houston, Texas is looking for a Telecommunications Engineer to join the International Project and Delivery team that focuses on all of their Capital Projects. The Telecom Engineer will focus on a Louisiana LNG Pipeline project and join a team of 5 others that are each focused on OT, Infrastructure/Hosting, Applications, Data, etc. This person must come from a role where they worked in detailed engineering and design of Telecommunications work for large scale oil and gas projects at EPC or EPCM companies. On a daily basis, the Telecom Engineer will do all of the telecom work for the LALNG project which will focus on a lot of assurance work. They will prepare and review telecom engineering deliverables including Design Basis, Specifications for various telecom systems, System Block Diagrams, Datasheets, etc. They need to have hands on experience working with various telecom systems and disciplines including PAGA, Radio, CCTV, Security, Satellite, Microwave, Navigation systems, SCADA, Weather, VHF, UHF Radios etc. This person must have previous experience reviewing and approving requirements, design documentation and lead and engage those conversations with stakeholders. This person must sit onsite 5 days a week in the Galleria and be OK sitting onsite at the EPC/EPCM once a week/as needed. They will also be required to travel as needed to Louisiana to the LNG job site (not often). This position pays between $95-$110/hr depending on experience and skillset. Responsibilities
Prepare and review telecom engineering deliverables including Design Basis, Specifications for telecom systems, System Block Diagrams, Datasheets, etc. Perform telecom work for the LALNG project with focus on assurance activities. Review and approve requirements and design documentation; lead and engage conversations with stakeholders. Coordinate onsite presence: 5 days per week in the Galleria; onsite at EPC/EPCM once a week as needed; travel to Louisiana LNG site as needed. Qualifications
Degree required in Telecom or Electrical Engineering (or similar engineering discipline). Experience in detailed engineering and design of Telecommunications for O&G projects. Extensive experience with traditional telecom systems such as PAGA, Radio, CCTV, Security, Satellite, Microwave, Navigation systems, SCADA, Weather, VHF/UHF Radios, etc. Previous experience as a Telecommunications Engineer/Capital Projects Engineer from an Engineering company like Wood/Bethel (EPC Contractor experience).
