Overview

This position is on-site and serves military installations, providing personal financial services to service members and their families. It is open to Veterans, transitioning military personnel, National Guard and Reserve members, military spouses, wounded warriors, and their caregivers.
Responsibilities
Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
Develop and distribute informational financial materials to service members and families.
Coordinate, publicize and conduct a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops (e.g., across the military lifecycle and in accordance with DoDI 1322.34).
Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication (web-based, secure online chat, video teleconference) as approved by the program office.
Manage duty to warn situations according to DoD protocol.
Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision, sharing trends and issues from assigned installations.
Participate in regular trainings, quality improvement activities, and other contract-related duties as assigned.
Fulfill other duties as assigned within the scope of the role.
Qualifications
3+ years of financial counseling experience.
Must be a U.S. citizen and fluent in English; may be required to be bilingual in English and Spanish.
Be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 background investigation and pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI).
Must have one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
Bachelor's degree required; may consider an associate degree with 4 years of experience or a high school diploma with 6 years of experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
Experience in DoD or military-focused environments preferred by contract requirements.
Education & Licenses
Education – Required: Bachelor's degree; alternative combinations of education and work experience may be considered.
Licenses & Certifications – Required: AFC, CFP, or ChFC (or equivalent) as noted above; required to meet contract-specific requirements.
Salary and Benefits
Salary Range: $53,125 – $84,995 (base); additional compensation details vary by location and qualifications.
Potential eligibility for short-term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package including health, life, and other fringe benefits.
