Overview Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Rochester (CCDOR) is a large nonprofit human services provider serving people across the 12-county Rochester Diocese. CCDOR serves people across the diocese with six operating agencies focused on specific geographies or program activities.

Position Summary The Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) has responsibility for the oversight and strategic direction of CCDOR’s system-wide Corporate Compliance program, including the management of the Corporate Compliance Plan. The CCO plays a central role in day-to-day compliance operations and strategy and is a trusted advisor across the organization, embedded from the frontline to the Executive Team and Board of Directors. The CCO should have a forward-thinking compliance vision and embody collaboration and partnership, cultivating a strong program that delivers meaningful results and lasting impact.

The CCO should be knowledgeable of all elements of corporate compliance and privacy in relation to service delivery, including strategy, business planning, operations, and finance. The CCO reports to and is supervised by the President & Diocesan Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manages day-to-day operation of the compliance program

Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, assists in corrective action plans, and provides guidance to prevent recurrence

Ensures periodic risk assessments and program audits to identify and correct areas of concern

Develops and maintains policies and procedures for the operation of the compliance program

Acts as an independent review body to ensure proper evaluation, investigation, and resolution of compliance issues

Maintains an effective compliance communication program, including hotline awareness and understanding of standards of conduct

Works with HR and others to develop an effective compliance training program for new and existing staff, leaders, and board members

Monitors performance of the compliance program and implements improvements

Monitors and responds to emerging regulatory requirements and enforcement trends

Serves as Chief Privacy Officer ensuring compliance with data privacy laws (including HIPAA) and leads privacy breach responses

Compensation and Benefits We offer a competitive salary in the range of

$127,493

to

$212,489

per year, depending on education and experience. We offer a highly competitive benefits package. The pay range is provided by the organization; actual pay will be based on skills and experience.

Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree in health and/or human services, public administration, organizational management, or related field preferred. Bachelor’s degree in related field required

Credentials: Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) preferred

Experience: A minimum of five years of progressive experience managing compliance programs in a related setting, proven track record in compliance and regulatory functions, strong knowledge of compliance in healthcare or human services, effective leadership and communication skills, experience with government agencies and investigations
